Anisometropia is a relatively common eye condition where there is a significant difference in refractive error (1.50DS or more) between the two eyes. It can result from genetics, eye injuries, or surgeries. If left uncorrected, it may lead to amblyopia (lazy eye) or strabismus (crossed eyes).

This imbalance also causes the eyes to perceive 2 images of 2 different sizes, a condition known as aniseikonia. As a result, individuals often experience:

  • Double vision

  • Blurred vision with regular glasses

  • Headaches

  • Poor depth perception

  • Dizziness

  • Eye discomfort or pain
